For the breeding department of our client we are looking for a creative Breeding Manager with international orientation. As a breeding manager you will be responsible for co-coordinating the breeding programmes of several crops. You are responsible for an international team. You are up-to-date with the latest research developments regarding the crops, translate this knowledge into the breeding goals and put forward ideas to the management. In this job you lead and motivate the personnel in the team to think out and implement new ideas in line with the commercial needs for the different areas. You regularly visit the various breeding and trial locations and stimulate good relationships with colleagues in other departments inside the company. Together with the team you look after recording and preserving the varieties, and supporting commercial teams at home and abroad with relevant product information. You advise the production department on quantities of seed to be produced and co-ordinate the adequate provision of basic seed.

In general you have an eye for commercial opportunities to expand existing business. Your university education will have equipped you with a sound, scientific knowledge of breeding, genetics, plant production, plant physiology and plant pathology. You also have practical experience in plant breeding. You are a creative researcher with an innovative and practical attitude; you know how to organize your work. By nature you are a leader who likes to coach people and you have good communication skills. With regard to the international work conditions it is necessary that you are fluent in English and Dutch.
